TIPS TO PERFECT BROWS

Get your brows professionally waxed or threaded every now and then if budget permits.

If you find someone who does this for a living, he/she can give you a great shape to your brows.  The goal is to have the arch of the brow just outside your pupil.

Thicker is better.
Generally, fuller brows portray youth, so obviously keeping them thicker makes you look younger :) You still want to shape them, but go easy on the tweezers!  Yes you. Put the tweezers down.

Step away….
Shape accordingly.
Ideally you want the inner part of your brow to be thicker, then taper to a thinner line as it goes toward your temple. Again, the arch should be just outside your pupil.

For super dark brows, you may need to lighten them.

If you have fair skin and very dark brows, you may need to lighten them.  Because my skin is fair and my brows are black, I bleach them slightly with facial bleach to make them less harsh.  Leave the bleach on only for 5 minutes or you will have orange brows!  (Trust me, I learned this from experience.  I had Ronald McDonald brows for 3 weeks last year.

Find brow powders/pencils/gels with a khaki tint to them- not red.

Because hair naturally has a khaki undertone to it, using a brow pencil that has a touch of khaki color will look more natural.  For whatever reason, most companies have reddish tinted brow products. This color just screams “Fake!”
The best products I’ve found is Rimmel’s Brow Pencil in “Hazel” or Makeup Forever’s Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector in “O” or “2”.  (0 is good for blondes or fair skin brunettes, 2 is good for dark haired beauties)

For the most natural brows, use powder instead of pencil.

For the most natural brows, use a matte finish tan or brown eyeshadow to fill in with.  Take an angled brow brush and apply shadow to sparse areas.  The best color for blondes is MAC’s eyeshadow in “Symmetry” or “Wedge“. For brunettes, it’s MAC’s eyeshadow in “Cork“.

Shade accordingly.
Not the entire brow is going to be the same darkness all throughout.  Generally, the arch and the tail of the brow should be the most defined and the darkest.  The inner part should be slightly more sparse and lighter.

See Kim K’s brows below- they’re a bit more sparse in the inner part of the brow.   Also, cut the hairs here a bit shorter so they “sprout” a bit more

Clean up around the edges.
For very defined and “clean” brows, take a small flat brush and apply creamy concealer under the brows to tidy up the edges.  You probably don’t need this step for everyday, but for those more defined brows to go with dramatic looks, this helps sharpen them a bit.

Tame the strays!
I don’t know about you, but my brows are slightly curly and crazay! I have to keep them in place with a brow gel.  Anastasia makes some amazing ones in different colors that is great for on the go. I also like MAC’s eyebrow wax pencils as they keep the brows shaped nicely throughout the day.

Finding the right tips for eyebrow makeup isn't easy, believe me, I've been trying to years! What that means, is that I was able to take all of my experience in finding the best tips for eyebrow makeup and share them with you! So ladies, if you've had problems finding tips for eyebrow makeup to make you look beautiful, don't worry, I've got your back!

1. USE EYEBROW SHADOW

When you're using your eyeshadow, one of the most common mistakes that many women make is bringing the eyeshadow up to the brow! Not only does bringing those colors up to your brow highlight your brow, but it'll bring out your eyes! So ladies, try this tip for eyebrow makeup, I promise, it'll make all of the difference!

2. TRY BROW GEL

Now, I actually didn't know they made gel specifically for your eyebrows, but they do! Using eyebrow gel, just a small amount is a great way to keep your eyebrow hairs in check and keep them slicked back. This is for sure one of the tips for eyebrow makeup that really works!

3. TRIM YOUR BROWS

I wouldn't suggest doing this yourself, but a professional can definitely trim your eyebrows down a little so those hairs don't get out of control. If you happen to get your eyebrows waxed, just ask for a trim and the stylist would be happy to do it! This will help the eyebrow shape and will truly help any makeup you put under your eyebrows stand out.

4. PLUCK FOR PERFECT SHAPE

Let's say you don't want to get your eyebrows waxed, that's okay! You can definitely pluck your own brows, just remember, the shape is very important so make sure you are following along the natural curve of your brow. Personally, I am so scared of plucking my own brows, how do you ladies do it?

5. FILL IN WITH A EYEBROW PENCIL

Let's say that you've plucked a little too much. That's okay! There are eyebrow pencils out there to help you. Also, if you don't have a lot of hair along your brow and have some holes, the eyebrow pencil will help out! Remember, one of the tips for eyebrow makeup is choosing the right color of pencil for you!

6. CHOOSE THE RIGHT COLOR

Speaking of colors, choosing the right color for your eyebrow pencil is very, very important. You don't want to get a black eyebrow pencil if you have light brown eyebrows. You want it to look natural.

7. BRUSH YOUR BROWS

Finally ladies, make sure that you are brushing your brows up. This is a great way to ensure that your brows look perfect when you are placing makeup under them. Also, one of the tips for eyebrow makeup that you should follow is choosing lighter colors that highlight your brow, rather than dark colors that might draw away from them.

So ladies, these are my top tips for eyebrow makeup, do you have any more to share? What challenges have you had with eyebrow makeup? Did any of these tips for eyebrow makeup help? Come on, share!

TIPS CLEAN YOUR MICROWAVE IN MINUTES WITH THIS SIMPLE

There’s nothing worse than heating up a piece of pizza in the microwave and tasting last night’s chicken and rice and this morning’s oatmeal. If you open the door and smell pork roast from two days ago, it’s time to clean that thing and a paper towel with warm water isn’t enough. The inside of your microwave should be white. If it isn’t, you better get to cleaning. The process is incredibly easy and will only take about five minutes.

Step 1

Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water and add either a drizzle of dish soap or a tablespoon of white vinegar, whichever you have handy.

Step 2

Let it cook for about two minutes depending on how strong your microwave is. You want it to get nice and steamy but not boil over.

Step 3

Keep the door closed and let the steam do its work for about three minutes.

Step 4

Carefully remove the bowl, because it’s going to be hot.

Step 5

Wipe off all the sides with a paper towel, and clean the plate like a normal plate.

If you don’t have dish soap or vinegar, cut a lemon in half, put it in a bowl full of water, and cook it for five minutes. This option is the most natural and the warm lemon makes your kitchen smell nice for a few hours.

Ok. Tanks......
